The installation manual is very brief and unclear. We were not able to install it at the bottom of our stairs. Screw holes are designed so they are not secure with the screws attached to the knobs. They are seemingly stripped, so any time we tighten/adjust the knobs the right side the left slides out of its place and vice versa. Therefore, the opening of the gate will not narrow enough to activate the magnetic feature. I would return this product, but the store I purchased from went out of business.

I tried the Boston dreambaby slimline auto close gate and thought it was a great product. It's a great gate for babies, toddlers, and also training puppies. It is easy to open and close and looks nice in the home as well. I would definitely purchase this product and recommend it to anyone with small children or animals.

So when I first open the packaging I noticed that it was bent out to far for it to be able to latch shut. So I had to fix it before I could even try to use it. There was nothing wrong with the packaging it came in so I don't know if it got damage while it was on it's way in shipping to meor if it was something that happen at the plant before they packaged it into the box. Once I got it all setup and in a door in our house I noticed that I had to help it latch when it would swing back closed. Also the mechanism for the lock is really flimsy, wobbly and wasn't made high quality or throughout really good in my opinion. I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone in my opinion but maybe I just got the lemon out of the bunch of them. I like the swinging door with the magnet closure mechanism, adjustable legs with permanent discs for the legs that get secure to the wall, how study the rest of the gate is made and a pleasant color for the gate.

This gate works for us. Now I can run around my kitchen and get things done without having to worry about running into Abbey.

This gate is blocking the kids from getting into the kitchen. It was super easy to put in place and I love how you don't need to screw it into the wall. I like how easy it is for me to open it and I would absolutely by this item again.

Keeps 3 small dogs safely contained to one side of yard.

We shopped around for a while looking for an affordable sturdy gate that would last some time for a growing family and are glad we chose the Chelsea by Dreambaby. I'm only giving this a 3 star rating because there is no 3.5. We love the gate but wish there were more color and finish options other than black or white. And understand that it is a tension mount gate, but it did get hard to tighten the tension knobs by hand when putting it up. With that said, we do love this Chelsea gate. With two little ones and a third on the way, we needed a strong sturdy gate that would hold up to the abuse of a growing family. I can open this gate with one hand and a babe on the hip! Yet, this gate will close behind me and lock so I don't have to worry. It's really a sturdy gate holding up to crawlers learning to pull up on everything to motor around. My husband is a kind of 'step over' kind of guy, being tall, but we do like the 'open door' feature as this is in a high traffic area, the main room of the house, so there is a lot of ins and outs. It's nice to have the hands free when you are carrying all the baby bags, seats, etc. back and forth. This feature is great for bringing in the groceries too.

My wife actually bought this gate online for when the grandchildren often visit. Simple to install but getting the tension dialed in right got tough to turn the discs. It is very sturdy - holds up to my grandson pulling on it. We like the hold open gate to walk through when they are not visiting. Nice looking gate.

With previous great experiences with Dreambaby products, I knew that when our baby started to move around the house it was time to research gates. My wife and I wanted a sturdy and functional gate. We also needed two for both ends of our stairs. We decided on the Chelsea gate based on height and strength. The gates arrived in perfect condition and nicely packaged. I knew that I would have to make some adjustments due to the staircase handrails, no fault by Dreambaby. For the bottom of the stairs I had to remove a piece of molding and the handrail, which I easily recut and re-installed the handrail. The gate installed just as detailed in the instructions. Please don't worry about the gate being bent. As you tighten all the gaps close to function perfectly. The top of the stairwell was a different install. The way the wall and handrail were built I needed to place the gate flush with the last step. This may not be manufacture approved, but the base bar is not in the way and also functions perfectly. Our baby has tried to test the gate by grapping and shaking the gate, and the gate does not move. It's sturdy just like we wanted. I enjoyed installing the gate and am thankful to Dreambaby for an outstanding product that most importantly keeps our baby safe. What more could you ask for?

Easy to install, and I like the sleek look of this gate. It's clean looking & well made. I also appreciate that it's easily wiped down when it gets a little dirty (it's used for keeping cats & dogs seperated while eating).

Bought this gate for a mischievous dog. Needed to keep her upstairs at night and not getting into the kitchen garbage or other areas of the home. Out of sight with this one is worrisome. Installed at top of stairs. The gate was easy to put up and used the little cups for added measure. Would really like to see cups with a wider spread. I feel they would provide better security but I can buy them on amazon. Do like the automatically closing feature so I can't 'forget' to check it. It's been a couple of months now, so far so good. We shall see how this holds in time to a dog that wants to dig in the garbage to access all the hidden treasures.

It was time that I finally purchased a baby gate since my 1 year old has started exploring the house more. I wanted to keep him safe while also providing a way for the rest of the family to move freely through the rest of the home so I purchased this gate by Dreambaby. This particular gate is a BIG improvement from the gates I used when my older children were younger (cheap wooden gate that pinched fingers and had to be pushed closed and caused numerous pinched fingers or plastic gates where the child can climb up the tiny beehive like holes) and this gate also has a door that can be placed in the "open" position for long periods of time...unlike others that immediately swing shut. Some of the great features this gate offers...that i love...is the auto close, smart stay open (you can do laundry and leave open at night without running into the gate), simple installation without the need for tools or hardware, EZY check indicator (red and green) shows you if the gate is locked (red) or unlocked (green) so there is no second guessing if the door is locked or if the tension on the gate is loose. The gate itself is 30.9 x 29.4 x 2.5 and weighs just 12 lbs. Included with the gate are 2 extensions, 4 tension knobs, 4 mounting cups, 4 adhesive pads, 4 screws and an instruction manual. This gate fits doorways, hallways, and stairways from 29.5" - 38". I really like how easy the gate is to open since the latch does not require a multitude of ways you have to push/press it to open it...just push the latch forward, lift the door up and push outwards. Also, the child can not climb out of this gate since the gate has vertical bars as its nearly impossible for a child to get traction that way. The gate itself is a perfect height...I'm 5'3 and it stops at my waist. I am able to open and close the gate with one hand and not have any trouble. A great solution for keeping my son safe while affording me the opportunity to get things done around the house. I was offered this product at a discounted rate in exchange for my honest opinion.
