Walk-Thru 32" Top of Stairs Baby Gate

I installed this a a doorway between our mudroom and kitchen to keep the dog in the mudroom where she sleeps at night and when we are away for a few hours. It does the job. Disregard the negative comments about this gate. If you follow the instructions and install it correctly, it is sturdy and works fine. This is a high quality gate that is made well.

We bought the gates to keep our pup Augie on our decks when we are on them. It was the perfect solution.

We recently bought two of these and both are awful. So difficult to open and shut. You have to have the perfect scenario in the house to even have a chance of mounting them correctly.

Best gate on the market! Simple to install and looks great.

21 years and still works like new. Installed 3/2001 and still have it on our stairs today. Never a single issue.

Terrible. Have had experience with several different baby gates and this is by far the worst. Very hard to open and not smooth at all. This is not usable in my opinion.

Latch arrived all bent. Wouldn't close right. Had to get crafty with some pliers and a bench vise. Seems like (for the effort) I should have just made my own gate…

The locking mechanism doesn't fit and it's extremely difficult to open and shut. It's stripping the screws out of the wall with the force needed to unlock, and has smashed my hand on more than one occasion.I've reached out to evenflo about this and hope to hear back soon

My kids have two at their house. As grandparents, we needed one also so searched for this same unit. Easy to install. Works well. The biggest challenge was finding one - there don't seem to be any at any major stores/online stores in Canada that we could find. We had to go to the states to get one.

Used this gate 30 years ago, and when it came back into stock, I couldn't wait to get a couple more for my daughter to use for her child. So easy to install, so easy to remove the gate without having to remove the hardware and then it's ready to go again when needed. Can be operated with one hand easily.

First off, I love the look of this gate! It matches our home perfectly and doesn't stick out and lock tacky. As for the functionality of it, my family uses it just fine. But whenever guests come over they have the worst time trying to get it opened and closed. It can be a little on the loud side if that's something that concerns you, but overall I think it's a good product.

Love the look of this I'm just not sure it's the best.. it's not a smooth opening and gets squeaky really easy! We left it up because we love the way it looks!

Just removed the gate. It was VERY difficult to slide from the beginning. The last time the grandkids visited, we couldn't get it to close. It was only used about 5 weekends over the past year. Loved the dark wood look and the ability to remove the gate when the kids aren't here. However, if you can't slide the gate open and closed, it is worthless.

Didn't really work for us. It kept coming apart as it was placed in our doorway. My daughter would push it off.

I needed a safety gate at the top of steep-ish stairs in a narrow hallway for my elderly mom. It was just what I needed and the price was great. Easy to install except the instructions don't mention when you're installing the lower bracket to the wall, make sure you install it high enough, as to open the gate you have to push in and pull up a bit. So if you don't give yourself enough room with the lower bracket for that slight pull up, it will be too tight to open.

I love this product so much I recommend everyone to use it it makes my baby secure all time

We recently bought this gate and I was ready to take it down the day we installed it. It doesn't slide well (if at all) and is very tricky to latch.

I dont dont have baby anymore and would be nice to opt out. But I did own this gate 16 yrs ago and now have one for our dog.

I was given this by a friend. I didnt have to pay for it. But it works and it does the job so thats enough

Bought 4 farmhouse style gates, for our old farmhouse. We have 3 grandchildren so far and they have been put into good use. They are tall well built, and children wont be able to climb out unless they are part monkey!! Thanks Evenflo!!
